Animal Identification: Animal ID
2 current models
- Cattle: Individual animal ID. Each animal receives a tag with a 3 digit Country number and a 12 digit individual animal number - those numbers will be linked to the premise in the database. As animals move through the food chain, their number will be added to the records of the premise they are occupying
- Swine: Group/Lot ID. Each group is identified by the 7-digit premise number and a 6-digit numerical number that represents the date the group was created. There are two types of groups:
- Static Groups: All-in/all-out type
- Dynamic Groups: Continuous flow type
Animals may only enter one dynamic group in their lifetime, any animals taken out of groups must receive an individual ID.
Any animals that enter concentration points where comingling occurs must receive individual ID.
